Donjoy Lateral-J Knee Brace
Your kneecap tends to be fairly susceptible to injury, particularly if you lead an active lifestyle. The Donjoy Lateral-J Knee Brace is designed to stabilise and compress the patella. This helps reduce your discomfort and promote healing by holding your kneecap in a neutral position.
This Donjoy Knee Brace offers several advantages over a typical sleeve as it features a soft J-shaped tube around the kneecap. When the straps of the support are pulled across the knee and attached to the brace, they maintain the position of the J-shaped buttress, which stabilises the knee and encourages proper patella tracking.

Sizing Tips and Tricks
- Ensure that the "wrap-around" straps are correctly positioned above and below the patella hole
- A correctly positioned brace should have the patella opening sat over the centre of the kneecap
- If your brace is uncomfortable, ensure the lateral and medial sides are positioned correctly
What If My Measurement Falls Between Sizes?
If you fall between sizes, we recommend selecting the larger of two for the most comfort fit.
How Does a Correctly Fitted Donjoy Lateral-J Knee Brace Feel?
If you have correctly followed our sizing guidance above, your Donjoy Lateral-J Knee Brace will provide a reinforced, compressive fit. Provided you have correctly positioned the patella opening across the centre of the kneecap (as pictured below), you should feel an even distribution of pressure across the whole of the knee right away.
What Is the Benefit of a Snug-Fit Knee Brace?
This close-fit helps draw tired and worn out ligaments and tendons in toward the kneecap, preventing instability and weakness when bending and flexing. A tight fit is normal for a knee brace as one that fits loosely won't provide the correct level of support.
