How Does a Serola Sacroiliac Belt Work?
The 60" Serola Belt is a slightly larger version of the standard size Serola Sacroiliac Belt. Both belts are designed to hold the sacroiliac joint together so the likelihood of it opening beyond normal between treatments is greatly reduced.
During injury recovery and rehabilitation, the Serola Sacroiliac Belt holds the sacrum to the ilia with the proper tension, so that, during exercises, as you bring the ilia backward, it carries the sacrum with it. The ligaments are not stressed and the joint remains intact, which is critical for proper rehabilitation. Too much or too little tension will create muscular spasm and inhibition.

What Is the Serola Sacroiliac Support Belt Made From?
The Serola Belt is comprised of two parts, the first being a non-elastic layer that is very similar to neoprene. This non-slip layer is highly breathable, hypoallergenic and soft.
The second layer is an elastic membrane comprised of elastic pull straps which fasten after the first layer is pulled tight. This layer provides additional compression and resilience and can be adjusted based on personal preference.
Can I Wear the Serola Belt While Sleeping?

If you tend to awake feeling sore and tight across your hips and pelvis, wearing a Serola Belt during the night could give you the much needed support and compression that your body is crying out for.
Can I Wear the Serola Belt Whilst Exercising?

Can I Wear the Serola Belt During Pregnancy?
During pregnancy, your ligaments and hips expand under hormonal influences. This can cause your pelvic structure to weaken, which can cause the back muscles to tighten and the stomach muscles to loosen.
By stabilising the pelvis, the Serola Belt takes the pressure off the sacroiliac and symphysis pubis ligaments, allowing the muscles in the area to work normally without spasm or pain. Therefore, the tight back muscles relax and the loose belly muscles firm up to both help support the baby during pregnancy, and help shrink the hips after delivery.
How Long Can I Wear My Serola Sacroiliac Belt for?
The Serola Sacroiliac Belt can be worn 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is even suitable for wear whilst sleeping! There are no limitations to how long the belt can be worn and wearing the belt for long periods of time should not cause negative effects or induce discomfort. If pain or discomfort arise, we recommend adjusting the position of your belt until discomfort subsides.
How Do I Wash My Serola Belt?
The Serola Belt should be hand washed using a light detergent or soap in cold water. Rinse well to remove soap residue from the small open cells in the foam, then line dry. Do not under any circumstances machine wash your belt as this cause shrinkage which will compromise the effectiveness of your support.
What Is the Width of the Belt?
The 60" variation of the Serola Belt is 3" (8cm) wide, matching the width of the standard size model.
